EF-10 is added to the old oil shortly before an oil change. Its detergent and dispersant components loosen sludge and varnish from oil ways, ring grooves and the oil pick-up, and hold them in suspension so they leave the engine with the drained oil.

- Add to the old oil with the engine warm.
- Let the engine idle for 10 to 15 minutes. Do not drive the vehicle.
- Drain the oil, replace the filter and refill with fresh oil.
